THE THANKLESS PATH

In designing compensation plan, there is an “expected output” variable that usually determines what a staff should get at the end of the period.

In designing compensation plan, there is an “expected output” variable that usually determines what a staff should get at the end of the period. In other words, you’re paid based on the input you’re expected to make to the company. And doing this, is what many refer to as doing the minimum.

However, we have seen from experience that higher rewards like promotion is given, amongst other considerations, on how much “extra” a staff has shown s/he can deliver. This extra is what I’ve termed, “The Thankless Path”.

Friend, to be and stay outstanding at work, you must be willing to go over and beyond on your deliverables. The bare minimum can only make you ordinary. To excel greatly, you must toe the thankless path. Cheers.
