YOUR BOSS IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

  • September 30, 2022

There is an intriguing dilemma every boss is faced with. It borders on moulding a #friendly workspace while #demanding results from your subordinates. It often appears to supervisors and team leads that you can’t do both. As such, when a boss tilts too much to one side, he gets a label.

In fact, most employees want a boss who is “friendly”, “playful”, “understanding” and “nice”. If he or she doesn’t even mention the results we should be delivering, better.

Sorry friend, your boss is not your friend! I know you wish he is, but he isn’t. S/he is there to ensure that the chain of productivity is intact. His reviews of your job? It’s never meant to be personal, take it as feedback for your growth.

Nothing excuses bullish bosses or assaulting and insulting bosses, no. But, friend? No, it’s not part of the bargain. Focus on your game and move on when you need to. Cheers!
