The business of leadership is normally a tough one. However, for women in many parts of the world, leadership is both tough and rough. Women have had to face a lot of resistance in their journey to lead their teams or their organizations.

One such woman who defied the barriers on her path, and laid out an example for us all, was Indra Nooyi, former CEO of PepsiCo. She was brilliant, incredibly top class and ultra-high-level performer. But what stands out from every angle, is her defiance.

Every leader, especially at the top level Nooyi played in, face resistance of different kinds. But we can only imagine how much more resistance she would have faced as a female leader. In her time, she transformed the product classification of the company, moved to make the products of the company healthier to consumers, while raking in the highest profits possible.
